Hi there!

This is Matt and Rachel, but you may know us better as mattjacob.com and racheljacob.com. That’s where we blog about geeky things and crafty things, respectively. We guess you could say we’re like two great tastes that taste great together. Well, now those tastes have combined into one awesome peanut butter cup–sorry, blog–in the form of jacobcrew.org (no point in linking there since you’re already there).

Why jacobcrew.org, you ask? For starters, jacobfamily.org and jacobfamily.com were already taken. In fact, jacob.com, jacob.net, and jacob.org have all already been registered by domain squatters (darn squatters!). Some of them are even Canadians (darn Canadians!). A select few of you know that we also own matt-n-rachel.com, but with the very real possibility of us having kids sometime within the next 50 years, we thought it would be a good idea to lay claim to a more general domain name that the entire family could share.

We promise that this won’t become one of those cheesy blogs where we post pictures from our family road trips–at least not until we actually do that and then have to delete this sentence from the archives. We envision posting quarterly updates about what we’ve done, where we’ve been, and who we’ve seen: a family newsletter for the 21st century. We can’t promise that we’ll always be able to stick to the rigorous publishing schedule (sarcasm) we’ve set out for ourselves, but we’ll give it an old-fashioned college try.

Until the end of this quarter (which is surprisingly near),

Matt & Rachel
